Christelle Oyiri is a Paris-based artist whose work weaves together music, moving image, performance, and sculpture into spe- culative cartographies of identity and power. Also known under her music alias CRYSTALLMESS, she mobilizes the languages of subculture to interrogate fractured temporalities, collective memory, and the psychic aftershocks of displacement and obliteration. Influenced by French theory, Oyiri creates environments that blur the boundaries between the sacred and the synthetic, the intimate and the systemic. Her work has been shown at MMK (Frankfurt am Main), Centre Pompidou (Paris), Lafayette Anticipations (Paris), Tramway (Glasgow), Auto Italia (London), Gladstone Gallery (NYC), and Los Angeles Nomadic Division, (Los Angeles), among others. In 2024, she was named the inaugural recipient of the Tate Modern’s Infinities Commission, with a new installation premiering on June 17, 2025.
